It's Always Harvest Time with FOHM

Our work at GGI in Uganda and Haiti is always bountiful and this fall it was no different as we continually sow and work to share our Hope in Jesus with others. Grace Giving has been actively growing a program in the small southern coastal town of Jacmel, Haiti since 2012. What started with 4 children coming to “day camps” has turned into a school with grades Pre-K to 8th and eventually up to grade 12. We have built a reputation of a quality school in Jacmel and we are growing so fast! As a Christian school, we are teaching our children about the love of Christ, while educating them and providing them with opportunities that will change their lives!

Heartwarming Uganda Update from Pastor Robert

Father's School

3-Day Training class on being Godly Fathers and Husbands helped address community marriage problems with Fathers coming from different churches to be trained on Biblical principles. On the last day, the men made oaths to their wives to be loving fathers and husbands and promised positive change in their families.

Widow’s Hut

Core to our message is that the Church should reach out and help the members in their community being the hands and feet of Jesus. When a widow’s hut was leaking and needed repair, the Church purchased materials and rebuilt her house for her. The widow now sleeps well, sings praises to God for the Church and help, and the community appreciated the contribution by the Church praising their efforts in Village meetings.

Mercy Activities

Sarah Sityo shared it is a beautiful moment when children receive gifts and scholastic materials. Books, pens, pencils, Vaseline, sugar, and soap were supplied to many students. The result will be good performance in studies and a better standard of living because some basic requirements were provided by the Ministry. Fountain of Hope Schools continue to receive highest marks on national exams.

GGI Mercy Activities

Bible Training

87 church leaders and pastors gathered for Bible teaching by Pastor Kirk Hille from Spokane. Pastor Hille taught for five days and all those attending appreciated the gift of Biblical knowledge, friendship shared by all, and their certificate of completion. Thank you to all who contributed to the Pastor Training fund.

Pastor and Leader Training

Bukeeka Evangelical School of Theology, administered by Pastor Robert, continues to provide valuable education for church leaders and Pastors. Monthly Pastor meetings also provide continued teaching and support. These programs receive funding from GGI to provide accommodation, meals, teaching, and opportunities to grow in God’s Word.

Small Business Training

Fountain of Hope Ministries, supported by GGI, organized a small business training to enable the Church to reach out to the community intentionally through business. Twenty-five people gathered to learn Biblical principles of work, development of business foundation, operations, and meeting Customer expectations.

Church Baptisms

Over 100 new church members have recently been baptized praising God for a new life and for some, freedom from demonic attacks. The church in Uganda continues to grow!

Shared Love and Child Sponsorship in Uganda

At GGI, we are disciples of Jesus Christ and strive to share the love of God by living out our faith with those less fortunate. This story is an example of our mission in action.

Brenda Namagembe is a total orphan currently enrolled in Fountain of Hope’s High School. She joined Fountain of Hope in 2009 and was recruited into our sponsorship program and has been sponsored for 9 years. Brenda is 17 years old and the oldest child of her late parents who died of HIV/AIDS. She lives with her widowed single grandmother who is also caring for six other children of which four are also orphans. The only choice Brenda had was to go and stay with her grandmother in 2009. Her grandmother has been so helpful and faithful with receiving and handling all the support and gifts from sponsors like mattresses, blankets, and food items. Before Brenda was sponsored, her and the other children at home had no mattresses and used to sleep on mats, covering themselves with the grandma's clothes. Today they have a place to sleep and are in good health.

Brenda gave her life to Christ and she is very happy to receive quality education from Fountain of Hope School. Because of her sponsorship she also receives a daily meal which in many days is the only meal she eats. She is now the happiest girl at school with a completely changed life. Thanks to her sponsors for all the efforts and support over the year without giving up. God bless you.

Financial Sponsorship Update

Child sponsorships have always been a foundation of GGI’s work and mission, and we continue to support hundreds of children giving them hope for a better future. As we continue to support our ministry and outreach work in Africa and Haiti, GGI strives for fiscal responsibility and to send as much as possible of your donations and giving as possible to our overseas projects.

In fact, 100% of all “Designated Giving” goes directly to the designation! GGI raises non-designated money to help pay for the low overhead and expenses we do have. Overall, for every dollar given to GGI, 1.3% goes to credit card fees and 2.4% goes to GGI expenses. That is probably the lowest non-profit overhead you’ll find anywhere and we’re working on making it even better each year! Starting in 2019, all new child sponsorships increased to $40. This was necessary due to the inflation and growing economies in Uganda and Haiti. Our current child sponsorship giving is unable to cover all of the
expenses of providing quality education, uniforms, meals, and support for the children we are helping. Current sponsors have the option of increasing their monthly giving or staying where they are and we will find alternative monies to make up the difference.
